International Mabel Day XVI
Sunday December 6th 2015
Mabel's annual tour of Oxford city-centre pubs is back. And it will be glorious! May contain traces of gin.
The overall plan for this year's extravaganza is as follows (why yes, it is very like last year's plan):
- Meet from 11am in the Royal Blenheim, to begin dancing at 12 noon (sharp!)
The Blenheim will be serving tea, coffe, bacon butties and all the usual morning stuff (plus, of course, beer from their amazing array of handpumps). - We will move on to St Aldates Tavern, where we have the upstairs room reserved, around 1:15. This is a change from previous years, as our former venue (Far From The Madding Crowd) has ceased to exist.
- Then it all goes a bit free form, and we will split into separate tours that will be organised on the hoof.
- Meet up at the Kings Arms in order to begin dancing at 4pm. Ali promises us that there will be food as usual and - we dare to hope - home-made cake.
The Teams
Well, Mabel will be there. We hope some other teams will, too.
At present we are expecting (with varying degrees of certainty) Bimringham Rapper, Hawksword, Northgate, Rockingham, Stevenage, Thrales, Tower Ravens, and Warwick.
Perhaps you would like to come along? Perhaps you'd like to bring a rapper side? Drop us a line if you would...
