International Mabel Day XIV
Sunday December 1st 2013
Mabel's annual tour of Oxford city-centre pubs is back, and there will be cake again. Probably.
The overall plan for this year's extravaganza is as follows:
- Meet from 11am in the Royal Blenheim, to begin dancing at 12 noon (sharp!)
The Blenheim will be serving tea, coffe, bacon butties and all the usual morning stuff (plus, of course, beer from their amazing array of handpumps). - We plan to move on to the Far From the Madding Crowd around 1:15.
- Then it all goes a bit free form, and we will split into three tours that will be organised on the hoof.
- Meet up at the Kings Arms in order to begin dancing at 4pm. Ali promises us that there will be food as usual and - we dare to hope - home-made cake.
Getting There
The poscode for The Royal Blenheim is OX1 1PT. It is about ten minutes walk from the Gloucester Green bus station, about 15 minutes from the train station and easily accessed by the Park & Ride buses.
The Teams
I think, but am not completely sure, that as of Tuesday 26th we are expecting:
- Cinquefoil
- Northgate
- Ryknild
- Stone Monkey
- Thrales
- Tower Ravens
- Warwick University
... and Mabel Gubbins
